"We need to compete as hard as we can and apply what we worked on throughout the whole season," fourth-year coach Reed Sunahara said. "We need to finish strong here at home."

The Mountaineers (11-16, 2-11) and Sooners (15-11, 7-7) meet for the 15th time overall on Saturday and the 14th time in league play since WVU joined the Big 12 in 2012. The two squads met once as nonconference opponents back in 1999, with OU claiming the 3-0 win in a neutral-site match. The Sooners own a 13-1 lead in the all-time series, though, the two teams split the home-and-away series last season. WVU picked up its first-ever win over OU in four sets on Oct. 13, 2017, inside the WVU Coliseum. In its most recent meeting, Oklahoma captured a 3-0 sweep on Oct. 20, in Norman, Oklahoma.

Most recently, West Virginia dropped a four-set match to TCU on Wednesday, taking the loss in set scores of 20-25, 25-16, 25-18 and 25-21. The Mountaineers hit .182 with 47 kills and seven team blocks, as junior right side hitter Natania Levak finished with a team-high 16 kills, two shy of a career best, and hit .467. Additionally, freshman setter Lacey Zerwas notched her second consecutive double-double and fifth of the season, dishing out 37 assists with 12 digs in the loss.

Sophomore middle blocker Katie DeMeo currently ranks third in the Big 12 Conference and 28th nationally in blocks per set, with 1.32. DeMeo, a 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Volleyball Team member, is on pace to etch her name in the WVU single-season record book. Her average of 1.32 blocks per set would rank No. 3 all-time by a Mountaineer sophomore and ninth overall in a single season in program history. Additionally, she boasts 111 total blocks on the year, 13 shy of moving into the top-four all-time by a sophomore.

Junior outside hitter Katelyn Evans has played in all but one set for the Mountaineers this season. She leads the team with 322 kills, averaging 3.19 per set to rank ninth in the Big 12. The Palmdale, California, native has recorded double-digit kills in 18 matches, including 14 of the last 18.

Zerwas leads the team with 788 assists on the year, averaging 9.16 per set to rank eighth in the Big 12. She is 50 assists shy of moving into the top-four all-time by a freshman.

Oklahoma is coming off a 3-0 loss to Iowa State on Wednesday, at McCasland Field House, in Norman, Oklahoma. Setter Kylee McLaughlin paces the Sooner offense with 10.81 assists per set and was most recently named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week on Tuesday and the Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Alyssa Enneking leads the Sooners in kills per set, averaging 4.44 to rank third in the league. Keyton Kinley leads OU's floor defense and sits atop the conference with 5.02 digs per set.

Of note, the Mountaineers are one win away from collecting their 700th win in program history. West Virginia currently holds a 699-739 all-time record since its inaugural season in 1974.

Looking ahead, the Mountaineers will swing through Texas for a pair of Big 12 matches to close the regular season. West Virginia takes on Baylor on Wednesday, Nov. 21, followed by a match at No. 5 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 24.
