MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University volleyball coach Jen Greeny has announced the addition of Lauren Duncan, a 5-foot-9 setter who will join the Mountaineers for the 2026 season.
The native of Brentwood, Tennessee, Duncan arrives in Morgantown after spending the 2026 spring semester at BYU and will join the program as a freshman.
"We are so excited to welcome Lauren to West Virginia Volleyball," Greeny said. "She comes to us with valuable experience at the setter position, along with a high level of competitiveness and leadership. We are thrilled for her to join our program and make an immediate impact on this team."
Duncan arrives in Morgantown following an accomplished career at Brentwood High School. At the club level, she competed for Alliance Volleyball Club, where she played for the nationally recognized 17 REN team under coach John Blair.
She brings an extensive list of accolades, including two TSWA All-State selections and multiple honors across the TSSAA All-District, All-Tournament and Region 5 All-Tournament teams in both 2023 and 2024.
Duncan surpassed 2,000 assists during her prep career and earned national recognition with selections to the 2023 JVA World Challenge 15 Open All-Tournament Team, the 2023 SRVA International 15U All-Star Team and the Tim Thompson Premier Performer Award.
She was a two-time Gateway Tire Athlete of the Week, appeared on several TSSAA Top Player Watch Lists and earned consecutive placements on the Main Street Preps All-Mid State and Tennessean All-Mid State teams.
Duncan's 2025 season added further distinction with honors such as Capitol Hill Best Setter, AVCA All-Region, TVBCA All-State, All-Mid State, All-District, All Tournament and MVP of the Tennessee All-Star Game. She also added multiple player of the year nominations and recognition as a Middle Tennessee Sports Awards finalist.
Duncan plans to major in sports nutrition at WVU and aspires to become a sports nutritionist following her playing career. She is the daughter of Chris and Chantelle Duncan and has three sisters: Katie, Brooklyn, and Mae.
"The coaches are truly amazing and people I want to play for," Duncan said. "They made my decision very clear the moment I got to talk to them. I'm excited to play with these girls."
