
Greeny Announces 2025 Signing Class

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University volleyball coach Jen Greeny has announced the addition of three students-athletes for the 2025 calendar year.
Joining the Mountaineers are Anna Barr (Allen, Texas), Sarah Pfiffner (Frisco, Texas) and Abby Tucker (Canonsburg, Pennsylvania).
"We are thrilled to sign the extraordinary players and young women for the class of 2025," said coach Jen Greeny. "Collectively, they bring a lot of volleyball skill and competitiveness that we are looking forward to coaching. They will have an impact in building this program into something special."
Anna Barr / Allen, Texas / Right Side
A native of Allen, Texas, Barr attended Lovejoy High School under the helm of coach Natalie Puckett Bates. The right side also played for the Excel Club volleyball team, under coach Shea Jenkins. At Lovejoy High, Barr aided in her team's UIL Texas 5A State Championship during the 2021-22 season. During that year, Barr was named to the Prep Volleyball Class of 2025 watch list, while being crowned to the USA Volleyball North Texas Region All-Star Tournament Championship team. As a sophomore, Barr was named to the AVCA Phenom Watch list during the 2022-23 season. She was also named to the Volleypalooza Show Stoppers List, as well as the Prep Dig 2025 Best Overall Prospects list. During that season, she helped her squad earn District 13-5A honorable mention team and academic all-district team honors. Barr also was a part of the Madfrog volleyball clubs' fifth place team finish at Nationals. As a junior, she picked up all-team right side honors at the Ann Kang Invitational Tournament while playing for Lovejoy High during the 2023-24 season. Barr was also named to the AVCA Phenom Watch List for the second straight year, after claiming all-district first team honors as well as the UIL Texas 5A State Championships at Lovejoy High. At Excel, Barr was apart of the Red Hat All-Star team at the Triple Crown tournament in 2023, as well as the 19U North Texas Region All-Star team. Now in her final season at Lovejoy High, Barr was once again named to the AVCA Watch list in 2024. She aided in her team's all-tournament team honors at the North West ISD tournament, as the Lovejoy Leopards were crowned district championships. Barr and her Lovejoy High team are now on their way to the state championships in Texas. The daughter of Laura and John, Barr's major is undecided at West Virginia.
Sarah Pfiffner / Frisco, Texas / Setter
As a setter from Frisco, Texas, Pfiffner was coached by coach U'iLani Womble at Wakeland High School where she competed on varsity for three years. She also plays club volleyball at Skyline 18 Royal, under coach Mark Flores. In 2021, the setter earned a silver medal at the 14 Open TAV 14 Black USAV GJNC. As a sophomore, she was named to the 2022 TAV 15 Black USAV GJNC All-Tournament team and earned a tournament bronze medal. Additionally, she was named to the 2022 all-district second team that year. In 2023, Pfiffner was named to the SportsDayHS' Preseason All-Area volleyball team. The setter picked up 2023 Northwest ISD Volleyball Class All-Tournament team honors and earned District 9-5A first team all-district accolades. With her successful senior season, Pfiffner was crowned the 2023 District 9-5A Setter of the Year. During her 2023 club season, she was selected to compete on the U17 NTR All-Star team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where her team won gold. Now in her senior year, Pfiffner was selected to compete this summer on the 2024 TGCA All-Star Red team and the U19 NTR All-Star team. Academically, she was named academic all-district in 2022 and 2023, as well as being apart of the Spanish and National Honor Society. The daughter of Tara and David, Pfiffner plans to major in engineering at West Virginia.
Abby Tucker / Canonsburg, Pennsylvania / Middle Blocker
A native of Canonsburg, Pa., Tucker attended Canon McMillan High School, playing for head coach Sheila Mitchell as a varsity letterwinner for four years. The middle blocker has also competed for the Skyline Elite Volleyball Club, for coach Zaza Storm. Tucker will play for coach Mackenzie Greene at the Renaissance Volleyball Club this upcoming season. Tucker currently holds Canon Mac's school record for blocks in a single season, where she was selected as an all-section athlete all four years of high school. As a junior, Tucker was named to the first team Big 56 conference, as well as a first team WPIAL 2AAAA all-star and first team PIAA All-State. Now in her senior season, the middle blocker was selected again to the Big 56 Conference First Team. Tucker was named as one of the top hitters and blockers in Pennsylvania for the class of 2025 by PA Preps, as well as the 2023 AVCA Phenom Watch List. Additionally, she was invited to participate in the Under Armour Next Camp Series. The daughter of Lisa and Ivan, Tucker plans to major in exercise physiology at West Virginia.
