2018 Promotional Slate Announced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In addition to thrilling action on the court, promotions for several of the West Virginia University volleyball team's 15 regular-season home matches were announced by the WVU Athletic Marketing Office on Friday.
Fans can purchase tickets by visiting WVUGAME.com, calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or at the Mountaineer Ticket Office, located at the Gold Gate of the WVU Coliseum. All tickets are general admission.
When purchasing online, tickets are $5 each and $3 for groups of 10 or more. At the WVU Coliseum ticket window, tickets will be $7 for adults, $5 for youth and seniors and $3 for groups. The discounted online pricing will be available until first serve on game day. Fans are encouraged to order tickets in advance online at WVUGAME.com to avoid lines at the gate.
Tickets for WVU students are free with a valid student I.D.
The Mountaineers unofficially open their home slate on Saturday, Aug. 18, when the team holds an exhibition matchup against Duquesne at the WVU Coliseum. The event is free to the public, with first serve set for 1 p.m.
West Virginia plays host to Georgia Southern, UConn and Wright State as part of the annual WVU Invitational on Aug. 24-25 at the WVU Coliseum. Friday's season-opener against the Eagles (10 a.m.) is Poster Giveaway Day, as the team will sign autographs following an evening tilt with the Huskies at 7 p.m. Youth players who attended WVU volleyball camps this year also are welcomed back for a Camper Reunion Night Friday evening. Additionally, WVU will give away jersey koozies to the first 250 fans in attendance.
On Saturday, the Mountaineers will host a canned food drive for the Wright State match set to begin at 3 p.m. Fans who bring a canned food item to donate to The Rack, WVU's student food bank, are eligible for a discounted ticket ($2).
The squad's fourth and final tournament of the 2018 season starts with Morehead State on Friday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. The Mountaineers will host a book/school supply drive for the opening-match of the Mountaineer Classic, which is in memory of loyal Mountaineer fan Roy Bucklew. Fans who bring books and/or school supplies to donate to the Morgantown Public Library are eligible for a discounted ticket ($2).
WVU will kick off Saturday's doubleheader event with free doughnuts and coffee to the first 100 fans, as the Mountaineers take on Penn at 11 a.m. West Virginia will return to the court later that evening, as the squad goes head-to-head with Wake Forest at 7 p.m. The first 250 fans will receive a free t-shirt, and the second autograph session of the year will follow the match. Additionally, Mountaineer Kid's Club t-shirts can be picked during the evening matchup with Wake Forest.
Winning Wednesday is schedule for the 6 p.m. Iowa State match, WVU's first Big 12 contest of the season, on Sept. 19. During the match, WVU students will receive an opportunity to win multiple prizes.
The squad will then host a Luau Night on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m., against Kansas State. Mountaineer fans are encouraged to wear Hawaiian-themed gear, as the first 250 fans in attendance will receive a free lei or a pair of WVU sunglasses.
The Sept. 29 match against perennial national contender Texas (1 p.m.) will feature a fan giveaway for the first 500 fans, courtesy of Coca-Cola. The match also will be a part of WVU volleyball's alumni weekend. More information for the weekend will be announced at a later date. Additionally, the Mountaineers will sign autographs following the match.
WVU will host its annual Pink match on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m., vs. Baylor. It also is the first of two Dollar Days planned for the year. All tickets and select concessions will be available for $1 each. The team will don pink jerseys in support of breast cancer awareness. WVU Medicine will sponsor the match and will collect donations for the WVU Cancer Institute. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and can get the WVU sports official "pink" t-shirt with a donation of $10 or more to WVU Medicine. Following Saturday's match, the Mountaineers will put on a free youth clinic open to any and all entrants in eighth grade and below. To pre-register, email WVUSportsMarketing@mail.wvu.edu. Autographs also will take place following the match.
Oct. 24 against Texas Tech (6 p.m.) will be a t-shirt giveaway to the first 500 fans.
A week later, WVU will host Kansas on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Fans can don their Halloween costume for free admission. Attendees also are invited to enter a costume contest.
Wednesday's match against in-state rival Marshall, slated for 6 p.m. on Nov. 7, will be a Gold Rush, where all fans are encouraged to wear gold. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a foam finger, courtesy of WVU Medicine. It also is the Mountaineers last Dollar Day of the season, with tickets and select concessions available for $1 each.
Nov. 14 against TCU (6 p.m.) will be Faculty and Staff Appreciation. All WVU faculty and staff will receive free admission with a WVU ID.
West Virginia closes its regular-season slate against Oklahoma on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. It's Mountaineer Kids Club Day, and fans will have an opportunity to receive the Mountaineers' autographs one last time following the match.
