
Mountaineers Open Home Stand Against Utah

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (13–6, 1–6 Big 12) will welcome Utah (9–10, 1–6 Big 12) to Hope Coliseum on Friday, October 24, for a Big 12 Conference matchup. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, marking the start of a three-game home stand for the Mountaineers.
Friday's game is part of Homecoming Weekend for West Virgina University.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $10 each and $7 each for groups of 10 or more. Any remaining tickets are $12 at the ticket window on match day.
WVU student tickets are available at the Mountaineer Ticket Office, located at the Hope Coliseum, and are free with a valid WVU Student I.D. The office, as well as the stadium gates, opens at 6 p.m. on game day.

Friday's contest marks only the second all-time meeting between WVU and Utah, with the Utes claiming the first in straight sets on November 21, 2024. It will be Utah's first-ever trip to Morgantown.
Statistically, WVU enters the match ranked third in the conference in hitting percentage (.269).
Individually, redshirt junior setter Alexis Finnvold ranks fourth in the conference with 27 service aces. Junior middle blocker Maddy McGath stands ninth in total blocks (79.0) and 14th in blocks per set (1.08). Senior middle blocker Laila Ibrahim ranks 16th in total blocks (73.0) and 12th in blocks per set (1.12). Senior libero LonDynn Betts is fifth in total digs with 258.
West Virginia looks to bounce back after a five-set loss to Colorado on Oct. 16 in Boulder, Colorado.
Utah enters Friday's match with a 9–10 overall record and a 1-6 mark in Big 12 play, following a four-set loss to Cincinnati on Oct 22. The Utes are led by head coach Beth Launiere, now in her 34th season at the helm. She has a record of 683-435, all at Utah.
Junior outside hitter Kamryn Gibadlo and senior middle blocker Emrie Moea'i were both named to the 2025 Big 12 Volleyball Preseason Team. Gibadlo is one of six unanimous selections coming off first team honors in 2024. Moea'i was named to the conference second team in 2024.
