MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 6 West Virginia University men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Kentucky at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium, Friday evening. The Mountaineers go to 5-0-3 and 1-0-1 in the Sun Belt while the Wildcats are 1-2-4 and 0-0-2 in conference play.
It was the biggest crowd of the season for the Mountaineers as the game was sold out with 2,968 fans in attendance, the fourth largest in men's soccer history.
Kentucky outshot the Mountaineers, 12-11, while WVU had a 3-2 edge in shots on goal. West Virginia had a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks as well.

Marc Bonnaire made two saves to earn his fifth clean sheet of the season.
The Mountaineers controlled most of the first half with 57% of the possession and getting two shots on goal but could not find the back of the net. Graduate student
Sergio Ors Navarro had one of the better chances for WVU in the 17
th minute, but his left-footed shot curled just outside the left post.
Kentucky's best chance of the game came in the 34
th minute when Marqes Muir hit the post.
In the second half, the Wildcats outshot WVU, 8-2, but still neither team could break through with a goal. Bonnaire made both of his saves in the half while junior
Ethan Dekel Daks had the only shot on goal for the Mountaineers in the final 45 minutes.
The Mountaineers will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Bucknell. Kickoff from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania is set for 6 p.m.
