Amalia Tsipas joined the Mountaineer football staff as a sports dietitian in May 2025.
Tsipas assists the director of sports nutrition with assembling the individual nutrition plans for each player, monitoring their nutritional intake and educating them on proper nutrition methods. She also assists the director in developing all menus and overseeing the fueling and refueling stations.
She joined the program full-time after serving as a fuel station manager for WVU football from 2024-25. Tsipas was responsible for overseeing daily operations of fuel stations, including timely and accurate distribution of performance-based snacks, supplements and hydration products. She also worked with sports dietitians to support individualized fueling protocols and recovery strategies.
Prior to that, Tsipas volunteered with the program to gain professional learning experience under the director of sports nutrition. In this role, she created and managed pre- and post-workout nutrition for the football team and gained insights into the player’s individual needs.
The New Kent, Virginia, native graduated with a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition from West Virginia in 2024 and earned her master’s degree in dietetics from Marshall in August 2025.
