Mountaineers Welcome Duquesne for Nonconference Matchup

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's soccer team caps off a five-game homestand on Tuesday, Sept. 22, against Duquesne. Kickoff from Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
Nick Farrell and Adam Zundell have the call of Tuesday's contest on ESPN+. The game also can be heard on 91.7 FM (WWVU) in Morgantown, and live stats are available at WVUsports.com.
Single-game tickets are available to purchase in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $12 each. Any remaining tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors at the stadium ticket window on match day.
New for the 2026 season, all student tickets for WVU's Olympic sports will transition to mobile delivery. Students will now be required to log in to their WVUGAME.com account to reserve a student ticket for each home athletics event. For Olympic sports, there is no request process. Students will simply log in to their account using the single sign-on functionality, navigate to the sport of the event they would like to attend and reserve a ticket.

Tuesday's game will be Fall Fest with fans able to enjoy hot cocoa until supplies last.

The Mountaineers are coming off a 1-0 victory over Georgia State in their Sun Belt opener to improve to 4-1-1 this season. The only game came on an own goal by the Panthers while redshirt sophomore Toby Mawer earned his third clean sheet of the season.

Senior Pablo Pozos leads the team with four goals and 10 points this season with sophomore Julen Recalde tallying two goals and five points. Junior Isaac Scheer leads the team with three assists.

West Virginia is coming off 13-5-3 season and their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. In the Sun Belt Preseason Coaches Poll, WVU was picked to win the league, the first time the Mountaineers are preseason favorites since 2022.
Pozos was named the 2026 Sun Belt Preseason Offensive Player of the Year after tallying 11 goals and three assists in his first season with the Mountaineers. Scheer and junior midfielder Nacho Martinez joined Pozos on the Preseason All-Conference Team.
Overall, the Mountaineers return 15 players from last year's squad while adding 15 newcomers. Six players join WVU out of the transfer portal while there are nine first-year college players suiting up for the Gold and Blue.
Duquesne is 4-0-2 this season and are coming off a 1-0 victory over Rhode Island. In the A-10 Preseason Poll, Duquesne was picked 10th out of 13 teams.
Marko Rasmussen leads the team with three goals while Sam Coss has made 21 saves in goal, leading to a 0.913 save percentage, tops in the nation.
