Last time out, West Virginia collected a 3-2 win over Kansas State at Buser Family Park in Manhattan on Oct. 19. Senior forward Taylor White scored late back-to-back goals in the 82nd and 84th minutes to help WVU tally the win. The brace marked her third of the season and fifth of her career. White's game-winning goal in the 84th minute marked her fourth of the year and eighth game winner of her Mountaineer career. Junior midfielder Maya Leoni and junior defender Olivia Shertzer were credited with the assists on White's goals
Freshman forward Kailyn Effah also scored in the win, marking her second goal of the season. With the win, WVU reached 10 wins on the season for the 28th time in program history. Kansas State outshot WVU 14-10 and led 5-3 in shots on goal. The Mountaineers earned eight corner kick opportunities compared to just four for K-State.
White leads the team with 10 goals, seven assists and 27 points on the year. She ranks No. 3 in the Big 12 and No. 12 nationally in total points this season. She is the first Mountaineer to tally double-digit goals in a season since Michaela Abam scored 10 in 2017.
Matt Fannon is in his sixth season as the head women's soccer coach at Iowa State. The Cyclones enter Thursday's matchup with a 4-7-3 record so far in 2025, with the squad coming off a 1-1 draw with Arizona State on Oct. 19.
