MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –
Incoming freshman forward Bella Flanigan of the West Virginia University women's soccer team has been selected to participate in the Pinatar Cup 2023 with the Philippines Women's National Team from Feb. 10-21.
Flanigan will travel with the team to San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain, to participate in training and Pinatar Cup matches. Additionally, she also was invited to be a part of the PWNT's player pool for the U-20 training camp in Manila, Philippines, from Feb. 23 – March 2.
A Morgantown, West Virginia, native, Flanigan signed with WVU in November 2022 and arrived on campus in January. Prior to arriving at WVU, she played for coach Robbie Aristodemo at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida, before moving back to West Virginia. While at Montverde, she was a starter and varsity letter winner during all three of her campaigns with the team. She helped lead the team to two state championship games.
Prior to this invitation, Flanigan owns 20 international appearances and has scored three goals during international play. Flanigan is playing with the World Cup-qualifying team in 2023 after winning bronze at the Southeast Asian games and gold at the Asian Football Federation Championships.
