Top-15 Matchup Set for Sunday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 12-ranked West Virginia University women's soccer team kicks against its second-ranked opponent of the year in No. 6 Virginia on Sunday, Sept. 1. Kickoff at Klöckner Stadium in Charlottesville, Va., is set for 2 p.m. ET.
Sunday's match will be televised on the ACC Network, with coverage beginning at 2 p.m. Fans can watch the game on DirecTV (channel 612), Spectrum (388). The game can also be streamed on a variety of platforms including: YoutubeTV, Hulu, Charter/Spectrum TV, DIRECTV, Playstation Vue, Dish Network and Sling TV.
"We know how lethal Virginia can be so it's going to be a battle for us to keep Virginia out of the net," Coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said. "We need to just control what we can control and focus on playing West Virginia soccer."
WVU enters Sunday's match with a 2-1 record in 2019 after the Mountaineers dropped High Point, 3-0, on Friday. Freshman forward Julianne Vallerand scored two goals in the 76th and 84th minute, respectively, to pace the Mountaineers in the win. Addison Clark added a goal in the 83rd minute, her first of the season.
Senior goalkeeper Rylee Foster recorded her 33rd career shutout as WVU's defense held High Point to a pair of shots on goal in the game. The shutout marks the second of the season for Foster.
The Cavaliers are 3-0 on the year after defeating East Carolina, 4-0, on Friday. UVA has blanked its opponents in all three games, while scoring 11 goals in 2019.
Freshman forward Diana Ordonez paces the Cavaliers with 14 points (six goals and two assists), while sophomore Alexa Spaanstra leads the team with five assists. Junior goalkeeper Laurel Ivory is the projected starter in goal for UVA. She has a 3-0 record and has registered three shutouts.
The Mountaineers are 3-10-2 all-time against the Cavaliers. WVU is looking for its first win in Charlottesville, as Virginia holds a 6-0-1 record against West Virginia at Klöckner Stadium.
