Mountaineers Conclude Two-Game Road Trip at Oklahoma State on Tuesday Night
February 23, 2026 04:34 PM | Men's Basketball
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia looks to snap its two-game losing streak on Tuesday night when it faces Oklahoma State at Gallagher Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The Mountaineers (16-11 overall and 7-7 in Big 12 play) are coming off a 60-54 loss at TCU on Saturday when they led by six with eight minutes remaining and had a 52-48 lead with 5:42 to go.Â
But West Virginia went ice cold, getting just a Brenen Lorient layup, as the Horned Frogs outscored it 12-2 over the final five minutes to close out their eighth victory in the last nine meetings against WVU in Fort Worth.
"For large stretches of the game, both teams it kind of felt like, 'Okay, who actually wants to win this game today?' I didn't think either team played very well for most of the night, but I think the other team deserves credit for making the other play poorly," West Virginia coach Ross Hodge said afterward. "Whichever team ultimately decided they wanted to win the game, I thought would."
As it did in last Wednesday night's loss, West Virginia was outrebounded 39 to 28 and gave up 19 offensive boards, making it 31 offensive rebounds surrendered in its last two defeats.
The Mountaineers, which have failed to reach 60 points in a game eight times in conference play this season, got a team-best 13 points from Honor Huff, while Lorient added 10.
The Mountaineers were 5 of 21 from 3-point distance against TCU and are 18 of 89 (20.2%) from behind the arc in their last four games.
Oklahoma State, meanwhile, absorbed an 83-69 loss at Colorado on Saturday and bring a 16-11 overall record and 4-10 mark in conference play into Tuesday night's game.
Parsa Fallah, a 6-foot-10, 250-pound senior forward, leads the Cowboys with a 14.5-points-per-game average. Sophomore guard Vyctorius Miller is the other OSU starter averaging double digits at 12 points per contest.
The rest of the probable lineup for the Cowboys include 6-foot-8 senior forward Christian Coleman (9.4 ppg., 4.7 rpg.), 6-foot junior guard Kanye Clary (9.1 ppg., 2.7 rpg.) and 6-foot-5 junior guard Isaiah Coleman (9.4 ppg., 4.7 rpg.).
Oklahoma State is 13-4 in games played at Gallagher Iba this year, including three of its four conference triumphs. OSU's Big 12 home wins have come against UCF, Kansas State and 23rd-ranked BYU, which travels to Morgantown to face West Virginia this Saturday.
CBS Sports Network (Jordan Kent and Mike O'Donnell) will televise Tuesday night's game, set to tip off at 7 p.m. ET.
Mountaineer Sports Network radio coverage with Tony Caridi, Brad Howe and studio host David Kahn will get things started at 6 p.m. on affiliates throughout West Virginia, online via WVUsports.com and the Varsity Network and WVU Gameday apps.
