
Mountaineers Welcome Towson for Midweek Contest

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team wraps up its four-game homestand with a midweek matchup against Towson, Tuesday afternoon at Wagener Field at Kendrick Family Ballpark. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.

West Virginia is 14-1 on the season after taking two of three against Kennesaw State over the weekend. The Mountaineers are currently ranked No. 13 by Perfect Game, No. 21 by NCBWA, and No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
Junior Sam White is in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak. He is hitting .500 during the streak with two home runs, seven doubles, and 16 RBI. Junior Skylar King and senior Brodie Kresser are both hitting over .400 for the Mountaineers.
The Mountaineer pitching staff has been stellar so far this season with a 3.07 team ERA. Seven pitchers have ERAs under three led by Carson Estridge at 0.52.

Led by seventh year head coach Matt Tyner, the Tigers are 4-11 this season.
Infielder Jordan Peyton was named to the All-CAA Preseason Team and is currently leading the team with a .333 average. Andrew Luczak leads the Tigers bullpen with 16 strikeouts in 13.1 innings pitched.
