Ty Watters (149) and senior
Peyton Hall (165) of the West Virginia University wrestling team both remain in contention for a spot on their respective podiums heading into session four of the NCAA Championships in Kansas City, Missouri.
Following a quarterfinal loss to No. 4-seed Caleb Henson of Virginia Tech via a 8-3 decision, No. 5-seed Watters transitions to the backend of the bracket, where he will clash with No. 26-seed Jaden Abas of Stanford in an attempt to earn his first All-America honor.
Two weight classes later, No. 9-seed Hall had himself a huge session three. The 2022 All-American started out by pinning No. 26-seed Domonic Baker of Campbell in 2:06, before picking up a 15-2 major decision over No. 31-seed Maxx Mayfield of Northwestern to clinch a spot in the round of 12.
Hall squares off against No. 3-seed Julian Ramirez of Cornell for the opportunity to secure All-America status for the second time in his college career.
Additionally, redshirt sophomore
Jordan Titus (141) saw his season come to end as he was eliminated in round two of Wrestlebacks.
Session four of the NCAA Championships is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
