Yutaro Tsukada and senior goalkeeper
Jackson Lee have been named United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Americans, as announced by the association on Friday.
Tsukada earns a spot on the first team while Lee was named to the second team. Both players were also named Scholar All-South Region.
The duo become just the third and fourth Mountaineers in program history to be named Scholar All-Americans by United Soccer Coaches, joining Andy Bevin (2013, 2014), and Jack Elliot (2016).
Tsukada led the Mountaineers and was sixth in the nation with 33 points on 12 goals and nine assists. He was named to the All-America Third Team as well as All-Southeast Region First Team by United Soccer Coaches and All-Sun Belt First Team, helping lead WVU to the program's first College Cup appearance.
Off the field, Tsukada holds a 3.45 GPA while studying general business.
Lee played every minute in goal for the Mountaineers this season, setting a new Mountaineer goalkeeper record with 17 wins, including nine shutouts, seventh-most in the country. He made 66 saves with a .742 save percentage while allowing just 0.96 goals per game. He was also named United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team as well as All-Sun Belt Second Team.
In the classroom, Lee has a 3.65 GPA and is set to get his bachelor's degree in marketing this winter.
