WVU, TCU Meet Sunday Night in Fort Worth

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 25 West Virginia University women's basketball team travels to Fort Worth, Texas, on Sunday, Jan. 26, as the Mountaineers get set to square off with TCU.
Opening tip is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET, at the Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth. Dan Zangrilli and Ayana Dunning will call the game for the Mountaineer Sports Network from Learfield IMG College. The game can be found on Jack-FM 100.9, as well as affiliates across the state, the TuneIn Radio App and WVUSports.com. Saturday's contest will be broadcast nationally on FS1, with Ron Thulin and Monica McNutt on the call.
The Mountaineers (13-4, 3-3 Big 12) and the Horned Frogs (13-4, 4-2 Big 12) are set to meet for the 18th time in the series on Sunday. WVU holds the all-time series advantage, leading 14-3. The Mountaineers and Horned Frogs split the season series last year, with each team winning at home. WVU won its last meeting against TCU, a 79-65 on Feb. 16, 2019, in Morgantown. TCU won the two meetings prior to the last contest between the two teams. Prior to that, the Mountaineers were victorious in five consecutive matchups against TCU.
West Virginia is coming off a 57-55 loss to Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown. WVU's scoring effort was led by redshirt junior guard Kysre Gondrezick, as she finished with 11 points against OSU. Redshirt senior guard Tynice Martin was second on the team against the Cowgirls, with nine points. Sophomore forward Kari Niblack led the Mountaineers on the glass on Wednesday, posting 10 rebounds.
The Horned Frogs are led by coach Raegan Pebley, who is in her sixth season at the helm for TCU and has accumulated a 13-4 record this season. TCU is coming off a 66-57 loss to Baylor at home on Wednesday, Jan. 22. With their win over Oklahoma on Sunday, Jan. 19, TCU moved to 4-1 in Big 12 conference play and marked the Horned Frogs' best five-game start to Big 12 play in program history. TCU opened Big 12 play with an upset over then-No. 25 Texas and has won three of its last four games. Statistically, Lauren Heard leads TCU in three categories: scoring (17.2 ppg), rebounding (5.7) and assists (3.8 apg).
