MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Our Dan Zangrilli gets us prepped for today's NCAA Tournament regional baseball action at Monongalia County Ballpark in Morgantown, West Virginia, in this special edition of the Mountaineer Insider Podcast.
It's the first time since 1955 NCAA Tournament baseball is being played in Morgantown.
Dan has interviews with West Virginia coach Randy Mazey, star pitcher Alek Manoah, senior right fielder Darius Hill as well as the other three coaches overseeing teams in this year's regional. Dan also has a conversation with WVU senior associate athletic director Matt Wells, who is overseeing this year's tournament in Morgantown.
Today, second-seeded Texas A&M will take on No. 3 seed Duke at 4 p.m. in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN2, while top-seeded West Virginia will battle fourth-seeded Fordham in the nightcap at 8 p.m. on ESPN3.
The two losers will play an elimination game at 2 p.m. on Saturday while the winners will square off later in the day at 7 p.m. under the lights.
Saturday's game one winner and Saturday's game two loser will meet at noon on Sunday to set up the regional final later that day at 6 p.m.
If a game seven is necessary, it will be played Monday at 4 p.m.
