The Mountaineers claimed a 73-64 upset win over the Cyclones in Morgantown on Jan. 16 behind a career-high 22 points from Lucky Rudd. WVU carries a 10-4 series lead into the matchup.
Saturday marks the Mountaineers' sixth game of the season against a top-25 opponent. WVU has claimed wins over No. 12 Texas and No. 18 Iowa State earlier in the season and led No. 12 Iowa by 24 points, but fell to the Hawkeyes 84-81 in Bimini, Bahamas. WVU also fell to No. 20 Baylor in Waco, Texas. The Mountaineers have 50 wins against top-25 opponents in program history. Coach Mike Carey can claim 80 percent of those wins, as 40 have come during his time at the helm of the Mountaineers.

The 2014 streak started with a 67-56 win over No. 23 Iowa State in Morgantown and ran through the first round of the Big 12 tournament when WVU downed Texas, 67-60.
The Mountaineers are coming off a 71-50 win over Kansas on Sunday. Redshirt junior Tynice Martin had 22 points in the win, marking her ninth 20-point effort of the season. Senior forward Naomi Davenport tallied 16 points, while junior guard Lucky Rudd netted 13 in the win. WVU shot just under 47 percent from the field and just over 74 percent at the free-throw line.
Martins' efforts against Texas and Kansas earned her Big 12 Player of the Week honors for the second time this season on Monday. She was also named the College Sports Madness National Player of the Week. It marks the fifth time this season a Mountaineer has earned a weekly award from the league.
Iowa State enters Saturday's tilt at 17-5 overall and 7-3 in league play. ISU has won three straight in Big 12 play, most recently taking an 81-52 win at Kansas State.
