Our introduction to
Kenny Bigelow Jr. came on the very first play of the season when he sacked Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano for a two-yard loss.
Â
Since then, Bigelow Jr. has become one of the anchors on West Virginia's defense. In this week's Life of a Mountaineer, Bigelow recalled his first play as a Mountaineer after transferring from USC.
Â
"The excitement running through me at that moment with all of my adrenaline pumping I knew I was going to give everything I had on that play right there and it worked out," he said. "The center happened to misstep and went to his left instead of going right and I just got off the ball and sacked him."
Â
Defensive line coach
Bruce Tall says Bigelow Jr. is a natural defensive tackle.
Â
"He's so powerful and explosive and he moves so well for a big guy," he said. "He carries his weight extremely well and he looks the part."
