Two-time Emmy award winning Director Scott Bartlett leads West Virginia University’s television broadcast efforts for Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
Bartlett came to Morgantown in 1990 to work as a producer for WVU’s television productions department. He took over producing and directing the award-winning Mountaineer Magazine and Mountaineer Jammin’ television shows for athletics in 1994, and was promoted to production manager of WVU’s television productions in 1998.
Outside of his work in television, Bartlett is also a respected broadcast professional in national network circles. He has served as a producer, director or technical director for all of the major national television networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, TSN and WTBS.
He served as the technical director for the NHL Draft in Pittsburgh in 1997, ABC’s Monday Night Football pregame show in 1998 and ESPN’s NASCAR broadcasts from Bristol Motor Speedway in 2001. Bartlett has worked for nearly every major league baseball team and has traveled extensively to direct college basketball games for ESPN. His vast experience in live sports broadcasts and his contacts with the national networks are among the biggest strengths he brings to the department.
A native of St. Albans, West Virginia, Bartlett is a 1988 graduate of West Virginia University. He and wife, Misti, a 1989 WVU graduate, have two children, A.J., a WVU alumnus and engineer living in Philadelphia, and Sarah, a WVU alumna who is a school teacher in Virginia.
