Fans can listen on Jack-FM 100.9 in the Morgantown/Fairmont area, as well as WVUsports.com, the WVU Gameday app, the TuneIn Radio App and various affiliates across the state.
As part of Dollar Night, all tickets will cost $1 and are available at WVUGAME.com, by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or at the Mountaineer Ticket Office located at the Gold Gate of the WVU Coliseum. It will also be Trivia Night, with questions shown on the videoboard throughout the game. Prizes include a flat screen TV, Bose headphones and Apple TV.
Wednesday will be the first meeting of the season between the Mountaineers (16-4, 4-4) and the Red Raiders (7-12, 1-7). WVU enters the matchup holding a slim 6-5 lead in the series and a 3-2 advantage in games played at the WVU Coliseum. All 11-previous meeting have come as part of league play, as the series started in 2013 when WVU joined the Big 12. The two have met just once at a neutral site, with West Virginia claiming a 59-40 win at the American Airlines Center.
The teams squared off on Jan. 25, 2017, when the Mountaineers were ranked nationally at No. 22. WVU took an 89-79 victory, though they split the series as TTU had won in Lubbock by a score of 75-66 on Jan. 11, 2017.
The Mountaineers, who moved to No. 19 in the most recent USA TODAY Coaches Poll, are coming off a 69-59 win over Iowa State in Ames on Saturday in which coach Mike Carey picked up his 650th career win. Senior forward Teana Muldrow recorded her league-leading 10th double-double of the season with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Naomi Davenport added another double-double, her fifth, with 10 points and 10 rebounds and tied a season-high with six assists in the game.
Muldrow, who recorded back-to-back double-doubles, moved into a tie with former teammate Lanay Montgomery for seventh place all-time at WVU.
Texas Tech enters the matchup with a 7-12 overall record and a 1-7 mark in Big 12 play. The Red Raiders' lone conference win came at Kansas on Jan. 17 by a score of 68-56. TTU is averaging 64.9 points and 42.3 rebounds per game and shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 26.6 from beyond the arc and 55.9 percent at the free-throw line. The Red Raiders also average 13.9 assists and 5.9 steals per game.
Recee Caldwell leads the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game, as Jada Terry (10.4) and Brielle Blair (10.1) also average in double figures. Terry also leads the team in rebounding with 6.1 rebounds per game. The team averages 3.9 blocks per game, with Brittany Brewer's 26 blocks leading the way.
"They beat Kansas two games ago," Carey said. "That was their first win in conference. I think you'll be surprised at how big they are. I watch them on film, and they're huge. We're not. It's not really a good matchup for us, so we're going to have to stay out of foul trouble."
Looking ahead, the Mountaineers remain in Morgantown to host Baylor on Sunday. Tipoff for "I Belong" Day is set for 3 p.m. inside the WVU Coliseum and will be broadcasted live on FS1.
