A WVU graduate, Jared Fabian serves as the director of player development and director of camps and is in his second season on the West Virginia baseball staff.
Fabian’s responsibilities include assisting with the team’s nutrition management plan, serving as a liaison for academics, compliance and admissions and organizing and leading a staff of 15 student-managers.
As the director of camps, Fabian manages all aspects related to the WVU Baseball Camps, including organizing staff, corresponding with campers and their families, creating itineraries and ensuring the safety of all participants.
Fabian brings a wide array of baseball experience to West Virginia, as a coach, general manager, video coordinator and media relations professional.
Prior to joining WVU, Fabian spent the 2017 season as the volunteer assistant coach at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he was the catching coach and worked with the hitters. Fabian also developed individual practice plans, assisted with fundraising and community service and created scouting reports.
Fabian spent the past two summers in the Mid Atlantic Collegiate League, serving as the league’s assistant general manager and head coach of the Ingleside Rattlers, beginning with the league’s inaugural season in 2016. While recruiting and coaching the Rattlers throughout the 2016 season, his duties as assistant general manager included assisting all of the league’s teams with recruiting, serving as a liaison between coaches and the league commissioner and managing the league’s website.
In 2015-16, Fabian served as the video coordinator for the Ohio University baseball program. While managing all aspects of the team’s video work, he captured practice and game footage used for player development, advanced scouting and the team’s media relations staff.
Fabian served as the head coach of the Litchfield Dolphins of the Beach Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2014 and ‘15. In his first season, Fabian guided the Dolphins to the league championship game and an Atlantic Division championship.
A four-year starter at shortstop and three-time team captain for the WVU club baseball team, Fabian managed the team to its first ever regional final appearance while in graduate school.
Fabian has also spent one year as an assistant coach at Hilbert College and at West Seneca High School. From 2013-16, he was the general manager and head coach for New Era AAA MUNY Baseball League, starting a new franchise in Buffalo’s amateur baseball league. Fabian also spent the summer of 2011 as a public/media relations intern with the Buffalo Bison.
A Buffalo, New York, native, Fabian graduated from West Virginia in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management while minoring in business administration and communication studies. He earned his master’s degree from WVU in physical education with a concentration in sport management.
