New Premium Seating and Press Box Tower Announced for 2028

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Designed to elevate the college football fan experience, West Virginia University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has formally released information on the construction of a new premium seating tower and press box on the west side of Milan Puskar Stadium.
Focused on delivering a wider range of modern, premium experiences, the West Tower will offer unique seating and hospitality options that meet the expectations of today's fans and provide much needed revenues to support WVU's athletic programs.
Launching today, the website WVUSports.com/MPSNext is designed to educate, inform and update on the progress and what to expect before and during construction on the new West Tower. The website contains design visuals, a FAQ section, premium space information about each level in the Tower and an interest form for fans thinking of purchasing and being a part of WVU's new premium addition.
On the first three floors, the facility will feature nine Founders Suites, 16 additional luxury suites, elevated and traditional loge boxes and a premium lounge to host patrons of club seats located on the west side of the stadium. The fourth floor will consist of a game operations center with space for media, national television, radio broadcasts and production space to enhance the game-day experience.
"The West Tower project at Milan Puskar Stadium is one of the most important projects and renovations that our department has ever undertaken," Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said. "We are engaging in a very aggressive timeline to complete this project for the 2028 season because the strength of our department depends on it.
"Our fans have let us know in a big way that they want more premium options, and this project provides a future revenue stream that others have but we lacked. Not only will it be a fantastic update for the stadium but it also narrows the gap in premium seating between us and our competition."
Demand for the new West Tower premium seating has been strong. During the early sales phase, significant progress has already been made across the exclusive premium spaces as only one of nine Founders Suites remain available and just 10 of the 16 luxury suites remain.
Fans interested in the last remaining Founders Suite as well as the Luxury Suites, Elevated Loge Boxes or Traditional Loge boxes are encouraged to complete the premium seating interest form at WVUSports.com/MPSNext as soon as possible to receive first-round consideration. The Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) will contact interested fans regarding availability, qualification requirements and next steps. These premium spaces will be allocated and sold as availability permits to those who meet the required qualifying capital gift commitment.
As previously announced, the athletic department has partnered with SLAM Architects for the design of the new West Tower. Other partners include Legends Global, as the Owners Representative, to serve as an independent third-party representing WVU from pre-design through closeout. Legends Global will protect WVU's interests in budgeting, construction schedules, quality and risk control while also serving as WVU's liaison to contractors and architects.
WVU Athletics also previously announced that Barton Mallow and March-Westin with partner as the construction managers on the project and oversee all construction from conception to completion, ensuring that the project is finished safely, on time and within budget. By managing the daily on-site operations, the construction managers will be the primary liaison between WVU, architects and engineers to include preconstruction planning, cost and schedule management, procurement and coordination of onsite construction activities.
The joint venture brings together complementary expertise in active WVU campus and stadium environments. March-Westin brings decades of experience delivering work at Milan Puskar Stadium and across WVU's two main campuses, while Barton Malow contributes extensive experience leading collegiate and professional stadium renovations nationwide.
Milan Puskar Stadium currently ranks near the bottom of the Big 12 Conference in premium seating. The new West Tower will close that gap between WVU and its competitors while generating a new revenue source for the department for years to come.
