
Mountaineers Set to Host Ivy League Favorite Columbia

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 23 West Virginia University baseball team returns home for its first weekend series at Kendrick Family Ballpark this season to take on Columbia, March 6-8. First pitch on Friday is set for 2 p.m., while Saturday has been moved up to noon and Sunday to 12:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at WVUGame.com, by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or visiting the Mountaineer Ticket Office at Kendrick Family Ballpark. Student tickets are free with a WVU ID. Fans can watch the game on ESPN+ and can follow with live stats at WVUsports.com.
Friday will feature a happy hour before the game with drinks half price from the time gates open to first pitch. Saturday will be Family Day where you can purchase a four pack of tickets for $35 and get a $15 concession voucher included. Sunday is the first Throwback Sunday of the season with the Mountaineers wearing special throwback uniforms.
West Virginia is 8-2 on the season after taking two of three against Kennesaw State last weekend. The Mountaineers have won all three series this year with a 2-1 series victory at Liberty and a sweep at Georgia Southern in addition to a midweek win against Ohio.
Sophomore Matt Ineich, recently named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, leads the team with a .450 batting average followed by sophomore Gavin Kelly at .409. Senior Matthew Graveline leads the team with three home runs while senior Paul Schoenfeld has a team-high 16 RBI.

Owen Estabrook leads the team with a .389 batting average and nine home runs. Starting pitcher Tomas Lopez will miss the series as he has joined Team Brazil for the World Baseball Classic, one of three active college players participating in the event.
