MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia women's basketball team fell to No. 10 TCU on a last-second Marta Suarez three, narrowly missing its upset bid 51-50 on Wednesday night inside Hope Coliseum.

Senior guard Jordan Harrison finished with a game-high 19 points and added six rebounds and two assists. Graduate forward Kierra Wheeler corralled a game-high 10 rebounds and added eight points. Junior guard Gia Cooke was the final Mountaineer in double figures with 10 points.
Trailing by six at halftime, West Virginia clawed back in the third, outscoring TCU 12–9 to trim a 29–23 halftime deficit to 38–35 entering the fourth. A Cooke fast-break layup jump-started the surge, and Wheeler's mid-range jumper at 7:14 tied the game at 29–29. Wheeler then gave WVU its first lead of the game at the charity stripe.
The Mountaineers did their damage at the stripe, going 8-for-10 on free throws in the frame, as TCU was whistled for six fouls.

Clara Silva's tip-in opened the frame, but WVU answered with a Harrison three to cut it to 40–38. From there, free throws dominated as Veronica Sheffey's pair pushed TCU ahead 42–38, only for Harrison and Sydney Shaw to combine for five straight points to give WVU back the lead at 43–42.
The teams continued trading blows as Sheffey's layup reclaimed the edge for TCU, Wheeler's bucket swung momentum back in WVU's direction before Harrison's jumper with 11 seconds left put WVU up 49–46.
The Horned frog made two free throws with three seconds to play before Harrison made one of two attempts from the line with three seconds to play to give the Mountaineers a two-point advantage. TCU called a timeout to advance the ball across midcourt and executed a Donovyn Hunter fed Suárez a top-of-the-key three as time expired, sealing the Horned Frogs' one-point win.
