Mountaineers to Compete at U.S. Open Championships in Austin

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Nine Mountaineers from the West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete at the 2025 Toyota U.S. Open Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center in Austin, Texas, on Dec. 4-6.
Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. each day and finals will begin at 7 p.m. Finals will be streamed on Peacock.
West Virginia is represented by Sofia Deste, Dragos Ghile, Victoria Kidney, Macey Larson, Szymon Mieczkowski, Rafael Mimoso, Erik Petruzzi, Cas Verstegen and Natasha Whittall. The Mountaineers will swim in various events over the course of three days.
Last year, Danny Berlitz won the men's 400-meter individual medley to highlight the U.S. Open for West Virginia.
