
Hellmann Qualifies for First NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore Levi Hellmann is heading to his first NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships after placing fourth on platform at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships on Wednesday at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Maryland.
Hellmann placed third in the prelims of the men's platform with 316.80 points to advance to the finals. Needing at least fourth place to qualify for the NCAA Championships, Hellmann put together two incredible dives to cap the day.
Hellmann scored 59.45 points on his fifth dive and 55.35 points on his sixth and final dive to place fourth with 608.70 points. The fifth-place diver finished with 601.80 points.
In the men's 3-meter prelims, redshirt senior Glenn Eloriaga placed 37th in prelims with 263.65 points. Hellmann finished in 12th place with 315.90 points to advance to the final. He placed 12th in the finals with 636.65 points.
In the women's 1-meter prelims, senior Abigail Sullivan placed 30th with 239 points. She also placed 28th on 3-meter with 249.65 points.
On the final day of the championships, Sullivan finished 11th in the final of the women's platform with 424.05 points.
