
Mountaineers to Host First Round of NCAA Tournament

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's soccer team will play St. John's in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the selection committee announced on Monday.
The Mountaineers and Red Storm will meet at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 20, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The winner of Thursday's contest will head to No. 10 High Point to face the Panthers on Sunday, Nov. 23.
Tickets will go on sale to the public on Tuesday at 10 a.m. General admission tickets will be $15.
Tickets for full-time WVU students will be available on game day at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium ticket windows and will be free for WVU students with a valid student ID, courtesy of Coca-Cola.
West Virginia enters the tournament with a 12-4-3 record. West Virginia is one of four Sun Belt teams to qualify for the NCAA Tournament along with Marshall, Kentucky, and UCF.
The 48-team field is made up of champions from 22 conferences, who qualified automatically, in addition to 26 teams that were selected at-large. The top 16 teams were seeded and received first-round byes.
All first-round games will be played Thursday, Nov. 20, on campus sites, while all second-round action will take place Sunday, Nov. 23.
