
No. 20 West Virginia Hosts Mountaineer Quad

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 20 West Virginia University wrestling team hosts Glenville State, Princeton and Appalachian State as part of the Mountaineer Quad at Hope Coliseum on Sunday in Morgantown.
This is West Virginia's (1-0) first home competition of the season as it will face Glenville State at noon, Princeton at 1:30 p.m. and Appalachian State at 3 p.m. Tickets to the match are free, and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
West Virginia defeated all three opponents during the 2024-25 season. Against Appalachian State last year, the Mountaineers had one of their best road performances of the season, defeating App State, 37-8.
West Virginia is 2-0 all-time against Appalachian State, while sporting a 1-1 overall record against Princeton and a 5-0 record all-time against Glenville State.
Former Mountaineer Dylan Cottrell, who wrestled for the Mountaineers from 2014-17 and was the program's first Big 12 champion, makes his return in his fifth season as the head coach of Glenville State.
West Virginia began dual competition against American last week, defeating the Eagles, 32-6. Redshirt sophomore No. 3 Ty Watters (157) was dominant in his return to the mat for the Mountaineers since his injury last season, as he won by technical fall, 21-6.
Redshirt junior Ian Bush (184) earned his second ranked win of the season against American as he won by major decision over No. 28 Caleb Campos, 11-2.
