MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 7 West Virginia University men's soccer team returns to Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Thursday for its final regular-season home match of the season against Coastal Carolina. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
It is Senior Night for the Mountaineers as WVU will honor 10 standout players before the match – Frederik Jorgensen, Max Broughton, Dyon Dromers, Otto Ollikainen, Max Trethewey, Sergio Ors Navarro, Ryan Baer, Lorenzo Nunez, Carlos Hernando, and Simon Carlson.
Nick Farrell and Adam Zundell have the call of Thursday's contest on ESPN+. The game also can be heard on 91.7 FM (WWVU) in Morgantown, and live stats are available at WVUsports.com.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $6 each. Any remaining tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth at the stadium ticket window on match day. Tickets for WVU students are free with a valid student ID.
In conjunction with Senior Night being on Halloween, fans can pick up a special Halloween-themed Senior Night poster before the game.
With just two games remaining in the regular season, the Mountaineers sit atop the Sun Belt standings, two points ahead of Marshall. A win against the Chanticleers would clinch the right to host at least the first two rounds of the Sun Belt Tournament while a win and Marshall loss or tie to Kentucky would clinch the Sun Belt regular season title for West Virginia.
Ors Navarro currently leads the Sun Belt and is fifth in the nation with 12 goals on the year. Junior Marcus Caldeira is second on the team with eight goals while Carlson has four. Ors Navarro, Carlson, and freshman Isaac Scheer all have four assists to lead the squad.
In goal, redshirt-senior Marc Bonnaire has made 30 saves while registering seven shutouts.
Coastal Carolina 3-9-2 and 1-4-2 in the Sun Belt after falling to Kentucky in their most recent game.
Evan Howard leads Coastal Carolina with eight points on three goals and two assists. Tristan Himes has played the most minutes in goal for the Chanticleers while making 24 saves.
