MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 6 West Virginia University men's soccer team travels to James Madison on Sunday, Oct. 27, for a Sun Belt contest. Kickoff from Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, Virginia is set for 7 p.m.
The game will air on ESPN+ with live stats available on WVUSports.com.
The Mountaineers are 10-1-3 on the season and 5-0-1 in conference play after defeating Georgia State, 2-1, on Wednesday at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. WVU currently sits atop the Sun Belt standings and a win against the Dukes on Sunday would clinch a top two seed and the right to host at least the first two rounds of the Sun Belt Tournament.
In the win over the Panthers, the Mountaineers endured a litany of delays but came out on top thanks to the 12th goal of the season from graduate student Sergio Ors Navarro and the first goal of the career of senior Max Trethewey. Freshman Isaac Scheer, sophomore Constantinos Christou, and senior Carlos Hernando all tallied assists in the victory.
Redshirt senior Marc Bonnaire has made 28 saves in goal for the Mountaineers, collecting seven shutouts in the process.
James Madison is 7-2-5 this season and 3-1-2 in the Sun Belt after falling, 3-1, to South Carolina on Wednesday.
Luca Nikolai and Yanis Lelin each have four goals to lead the team. Sebastian Conlon has made 42 saves and has seven shutouts in goal this season
