
Mountaineers Host the Wildcats for Sunday Matinee

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (6-9, 0-4 Big 12) continues their home slate, hosting Kansas State on Oct. 13. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. ET, inside the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown.
Sunday's game is the Brunch with the Mountaineers match, as the first 100 fans will receive complimentary coffee, donuts, and juice. Fans are encouraged to stick around after the game for post-match autographs with the team at the Gold Gate.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $6 each and $5 each for groups of 10 or more. Any remaining tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors and $5 for groups at the ticket window on match day.
WVU student tickets also will be made available at the Mountaineer Ticket Office, located at the Coliseum. The office, as well as the stadium gates, opens at noon, on game day.
WVU students are admitted for free with a valid WVU Student I.D.

Sunday's match marks the 24th meeting between the 'Cats and Mountaineers, K-State leads the all-time series, 15-8. Last season, Kansas State defeated West Virginia, 3-0 on Sept. 27.
Last time out, West Virginia fell in three sets to No. 8 Kansas on Oct. 10 in Morgantown. The Mountaineers were led by offensively by senior outside hitter Hailey Green and redshirt junior outside hitter Cassidy Canton, as the duo collected 11 kills each.
Tanton leads WVU with 216 kills and 26 service aces this season, ranking No. 6 in aces and No. 9 in kills within the Big 12. Additionally, the Mountaineers are fifth in the league with 106 service aces in 64 sets this season.
Jason Mansfield is in his second year at the helm of the Wildcats, with a record of 21-20. K-State enters the match, 5-9 with a conference record of 3-2. In their last outing, Kansas State defeated Cincinnati on the road, 3-2 on Oct. 10.
