
West Virginia Heads to UCF on Wednesday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (6-7, 0-2 Big 12) will travel to Orlando, Florida on Oct. 2 to face off against UCF. Wednesday's match is slated to start at 7 p.m. ET, inside of the Venue at UCF.

Wednesday's match marks the third meeting between the Knights and Mountaineers, with the all-time series record knotted at one. Last season, UCF defeated the Mountaineers, 3-0 on Oct. 11.
Last time out, WVU fell in five-sets, 3-2 to Iowa State on Sept. 28. Redshirt junior outside hitter Cassidy Tanton led the Mountaineers with her eighth double-double of the season, collecting 15 kills and 11 digs.
Additionally, sophomore setter Alexis Finnvold dished 38 assists while graduate student libero Sydney Reed collected 13 digs.
Tanton leads the squad with 25 service aces and 187 kills, ranking fifth in aces and ninth in kills in the Big 12 conference. WVU's Finnvold and Reed rank No. 10 in the league in aces and digs, respectively.
The Mountaineers have tallied 93 services aces in 54 sets this season, ranking fifth in the conference.
Jenny Maurer is in her ninth season at the helm of the Knights, boasting a record of 190-63. UCF enters the match, 7-4, with a 0-2 league record. In their last match, UCF was swept, 3-0 by Kansas State on Sept. 27.
