MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia is ranked 24th in this week's Associated Press Top 25 men's basketball poll, released earlier today.
It's the Mountaineers' first appearance in the AP Poll since finishing the 2020-21 regular season ranked 13th. WVU is also No. 24 in this week's USA Today Coaches poll.
WVU boosted its record to 10-2 with a 75-64 victory over Stony Brook last Thursday night. West Virginia begins Big 12 play this Saturday night when it faces 11-1 Kansas State at Bramlage Coliseum.
The Wildcats most recently defeated Radford 73-65 and received five votes in this week's poll. West Virginia will remain on the road to play at Oklahoma State next Monday night.
WVU opens its Big 12 home schedule against fourth-ranked Kansas at the WVU Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 7, in a game that's already been announced a sellout.
Tickets for all remaining home games, with the exception of Texas, are still available and can be purchased by logging on to WVUGAME.com.
