
No. 8 Passing Attack vs. No. 1 Pass Defense Saturday Night in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia will be facing the hottest team in the Big 12 this Saturday night when 14th-ranked Oklahoma comes to Morgantown.
The 6-2 Sooners, winners of five straight after dropping a pair of early-season games to Kansas State and Iowa State, are coming off an impressive 41-13 win over Oklahoma State in the annual Bedlam game played in Norman last night.
Freshman sensation Spencer Rattler continued his ascension with last night's 301-yard, four-touchdown passing performance against the Cowboys.
Since losing to Iowa State 37-30 on Oct. 3, Rattler has thrown 12 touchdown passes and only two interceptions during OU's five-game winning streak, which includes point totals of 53 against Texas, 62 against Texas Tech, 62 against Kansas and 41 last night.
Oklahoma has the nation's eighth-rated passing attack averaging 343.9 yards per game going against West Virginia's No. 1 pass defense that is allowing just 161.5 yards per contest.
Overall, West Virginia (5-3) is fourth in total defense giving up 274 yards per game and 13th in scoring defense surrendering 17.8 points per game.
Oklahoma ranks fifth in points per game (45.5 ppg.) and 12th in total offense (512.1 ypg.). The Sooners also have the 20th-ranked defense by allowing just 326.6 yards per game.
In its last four wins, Oklahoma is outscoring its opponents by an average of 33.5 points per outing.
West Virginia, coming off an impressive 24-6 win over TCU two weeks ago, was idle on Saturday.
Oklahoma trails Iowa State in the Big 12 standings by one game with two weeks remaining in the regular season. West Virginia will conclude the 2020 campaign against the 15th-ranked Cyclones in Ames on Saturday, Dec. 5.
Saturday's game against Oklahoma will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ABC.
