All Missouri in the First Half

Kelly Bryant fired three touchdown passes and Missouri scored on five of its six possessions to take a commanding 31-0 halftime lead against West Virginia this afternoon at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, Missouri.
Bryant, a former Clemson transfer, played a near-flawless first half by completing 14-of-20 passes for 125 yards, two of those going to tight end Albert Okwuegbunam for touchdowns of 26 and 16 yards.
Bryant also tossed a 3-yard scoring strike to Barrett Banister right before the end of the first half after West Virginia was unsuccessful on fourth down on Missouri's side of midfield.
Missouri's other touchdown came on Larry Rountree's 10-yard run.
West Virginia, which finished the first half with just 78 total yards and minus-2 yards rushing, had just one good scoring opportunity when the Mountaineers reached the Tiger 20, mostly as a result of Missouri penalties.
But quarterback Austin Kendall was sacked back at the 28 while attempting to complete a third-down pass and Evan Staley's 45-yard field goal attempt sailed just left of the upright.
Kendall completed half of his 18 pass attempts for 80 yards with two interceptions, both on tipped passes.
Freshman Sam James caught four for a team-best 37 yards. He also had West Virginia's best run from scrimmage when he ran eight yards for a first down on a reverse early in the second quarter.
Also in the second quarter junior defensive end Taijh Alston suffered what appeared to be a significant injury when was taken off the field on a golf cart.
West Virginia will receive the second half kickoff.
More details to come.
