BECKLEY W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team will travel to Beckley, West Virginia, to play host to nonconference foe Radford on Sunday in a 2 p.m. tip at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center. The game is presented by Little General.

Fans can purchase tickets at all Little General stores in Raleigh, Fayette, Wyoming and Mercer counties. All tickets are general admission and are available for a cost of $7 each. Cash-only tickets will be available at the door of the Convention Center on game day. Credit cards and checks will not be accepted.
The Mountaineers (2-0) and the Highlanders (1-1) meet for the third time in program history on Sunday. The two last met on Dec. 16, 2017, when then-No. 10 West Virginia picked up a 75-55 win over Radford at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center in Charleston, West Virginia. Sunday will mark WVU's second straight game against a Big South opponent.
West Virginia is coming off a 56-40 win over Presbyterian a week ago. Redshirt junior guard Kysre Gondrezick once again led the scoring with a 20-point performance while freshman Esmery Martinez led the rebounding with 11 boards, adding six points and a block as well. Sophomore forward Kari Niblack added six points and a block and freshman guard Kirsten Deans chipped in four points and six rebounds. However, the Mountaineers struggled with turnovers, registering 26 on the day. It marks the most turnovers in a single game since WVU turned the ball over 27 times against Ohio State in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
The Mountaineers have played 48 neutral-site games in the state of West Virginia. That number will get to 50 this season, as West Virginia also will welcome Norfolk State at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center on Dec. 15. WVU is 32-16 all-time in neutral-site games in state, with the most common site being the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center (formerly the Charleston Civic Center). The team has also played at the Randolph County Armory in the 1980s. West Virginia last lost a neutral-site game in the state on April 4, 2015, when the Mountaineers fell to UCLA by a score of 62-60 in the WNIT Championship game.
Under the direction of coach Mike McGuire, Radford enters Sunday's contest with a 1-1 mark. After dropping their season-opener at Vanderbilt by a score of 80-46, the Highlanders bounced back on Tuesday with a 60-45 win over SC State. The Highlanders enter the game averaging 53.0 points and 40.0 rebounds per game, and they're shooting 34.2 percent from the field, 14.8 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent at the free-throw line.
Khiana Johnson leads the scoring for the Highlanders, averaging 16.5 points per game while Amele Ngwafang is also in double figures at 12.0 points per contest. Additionally, Ngwafang leads the rebounding effort as well, averaging 13.0 boards per contest. Aiden Rainford and Makaila Wilson each average a steal per game, while Tina Lindenfield averages 2.0 assists per game.
Next up, WVU will play host to Coppin State on Thursday in a 10 a.m. game at the WVU Coliseum as part of Education Day. For the second straight season, the Mountaineers will welcome 9,000 local middle and elementary school students to the contest.
