
WVU Announces Summer Athletic Camps

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Several West Virginia University athletic programs will host camps, clinics and sessions throughout the summer of 2018.

Coach Randy Mazey and the Mountaineer baseball team are set to host seven different camps from June through September. The staff will host a Youth Summer Camp for players in 8th grade and under from July 11-13 at Monongalia County Ballpark. Travel Camps for players in 12th grade and under will take place on June 13 (Martinsburg High), June 23 (Huntington High) and June 24 (Point Pleasant High). Campers of all ages are invited to the Father-Son Camp set for June 9-10 at Monongalia County Ballpark. An Elite Skills Camp is set for June 26-27 at Monongalia County Ballpark for ages 13-18. A Team Camp also will be held Sept. 14-16.
The WVU football program will host eight different camps, starting with the first of six Elite One-Day Camps for prospects entering grades 9-12 on June 4. The remaining Elite One-Day Camps will take place on June 11, June 16, June 18, June 21 and July 28. The 7-on-7 Tournament and Big Man Camp for athletes entering grades 9-12 will take place June 22-23, while the Showtime Camp takes place on July 27.
Coach Jason Butts and the WVU gymnastics team will host a pair of camps in June. The Day Camp for campers ages 7-11 will be held June 19-21, while an Overnight Camp geared toward gymnasts ages 11-18 is set for June 22-24.
Men's basketball will hold four camps this summer, starting with the Fantasy Camp from June 1-3. All campers must be 21 years of age to participate in the three-day, two-night Fantasy Camp. A Team Camp for prospects entering grades 9-12 will take place on June 15-17. Individual Camp for players ages 8-18 will take place June 17-20, followed by a Day Camp for ages 7-12 on July 30 – Aug. 2.
Coach Marlon LeBlanc and the men's soccer team will host a Youth Academy for players in 8th grade and under from June 12-15, as well as a Collegiate Prep Academy for prospects entering grades 7-12 from July 19-22.
The WVU women's tennis team will host a pair of camps this summer, starting with the High School Camp for prospects entering grades 9-12 on June 25-29. Summer camp for players ages 6-18 is set for July 23-27.
Coach Reed Sunahara and the volleyball staff will offer several camps throughout the summer. The Mountaineer Academy for grades 3-12 will take place June 5-7, followed by an Elite Camp for players entering grades 9-12 from July 13-15. A Serving Clinic for campers entering grades 3-12 will take place on June 21, while a Position Camp for prospects entering grades 7-12 is set for July 12. A Middle School All Skills Camp will take place on July 27-28 for players entering grades 5-8. The staff also will offer satellite camps at various locations.
Coach Mike Carey and the WVU women's basketball team will host three camps, starting with the Summer Shootout from June 22-24 open to all high school, middle school and AAU teams. A Day Camp also is offered to girls in grades K-7 and boys ages 5-6 from June 25-27.

The Day Camp for players ages 3-12 will take place June 11-15, followed by an Overnight Camp for prospects entering grades 5-12 on July 14-17. The Summer ID Camp is scheduled for July 21 and is open to all high school and middle school girls as well as club teams.
The WVU track team will host a Track/Cross Country Camp from June 24-28, followed by a Pole Vault Camp on July 22-26.
