MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Game week is finally here! West Virginia opens its 2017 football season on Sunday, Sept. 3, at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, when the Mountaineers take on longtime rival Virginia Tech in the revival of the Black Diamond Trophy Game.
The two teams last met in Morgantown on October 1, 2005 when the Hokies claimed a 34-17 victory.
Today, Dana Holgorsen will visit with media on his weekly Big 12 coaches' teleconference streaming live at 11:40 a.m. EST on Big12Sports.com. Game notes and an updated depth chart will be made available later this afternoon on WVUsports.com.
Coach Holgorsen, assistant coaches and players will discuss the Hokies in much greater detail on Tuesday, beginning with Holgorsen's news conference streaming live at noon on WVUsports.com.
