Alli Magaletta netting the equalizer in the 78th minute, 10 minutes after UVA broke scoreless play. The teams exchanged chances in the first overtime, but a scramble in front of the net in the 106th minute resulted in a Megan Reid golden goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Rylee Foster, the reigning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, played all 105:15 minutes in goal Thursday night and shows a 0.92 goals-against average on the season. She has made 12 saves in two matches for a .857 save percentage.
The Dukes (1-1) travel to Morgantown following a 3-0 win over Oakland on Aug. 25, at Rooney Field in Pittsburgh. Junior forward Katie O'Connor netted the game-winner in the 47th minute, while senior forward Linnea Faccenda added a pair of insurance goals in the second half. Junior Kyra Murphy made two saves, and the Duke defense held Oakland to six shots.
