Football Announces Additional Signee

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University football coach Dana Holgorsen has announced that David Isreal, a 6-2, 183-pound quarterback from Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas, has signed a letter of intent and grant in aid for the 2017-18 academic year. He will enroll this summer and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

- Played in 12 games for coach Tim Schaffner at Butler CC
- Completed 126-of-242 passes for 1,841 yards and 13 touchdowns; Also scored two rushing touchdowns
- Helped lead Butler CC to a 7-5 record, an appearance in the Salt City Bowl and a No. 17 national ranking among junior colleges
- Completed a season-high 19 passes in 37 attempts for 391 yards and three touchdowns at Independence CC
- Finished with 246 yards on 8-of-16 passes with two touchdowns against Eastern Arizona College in the Salt City Bowl; also ran for 19 yards and a touchdown
- In his first game at Fort Scott, he completed 16-of-29 for 208 yards and a touchdown; also ran for a season-high 62 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown
- Threw three touchdown passes against Ellsworth CC
High School
- Played in 33 career games and started 30 for coach Dan Morgan at Blythewood High
- As a senior, helped lead Blythewood to a 9-4 record, second round of the state playoffs and a No. 22 ranking in South Carolina
- Named Blythewood Offensive Player of the Year
- Completed 399-of-768 passes for his career for 5,836 yards and 56 touchdowns; ran for 701 yards and 11 touchdowns
- As a senior, he started 13 games and completed 132-of-244 passes for 2,025 yards and 19 touchdowns
