Will Johnson signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants in April. Johnson had played in 47 straight games in the regular season with the Steelers, which was the third-longest active streak among NFL fullbacks. However, he suffered an injury early in the preseason and was placed on the Giants injured reserve list.

He had surgery on his fractured fibula. It is possible that White could return to the Bears during Week 13, according to local media reports.
