Howard Named Offensive Player of the Week

Skyler Howard (West Virginia), Ryan Reid (Baylor), Cole Moos (Kansas) and Devin Duvernay (Texas) captured Big 12 football weekly honors. All four picked up their first career award.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Skyler Howard, West Virginia, QB, Sr, Fort Worth, Texas
- Howard finished with 407 yards of total offense and was responsible for three touchdowns in West Virginia’s 48-17 win at Texas Tech.
- Completed 21-of-31 passes (67.7 percent) for 318 yards and a touchdown.
- Long pass went for 53 yards as he had 10 completions of 10 yards or more, six of 20-plus yards and three that went for at least 40 yards.
- Had 12 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns with a long run of 20 yards.
- Marked his third 300-yard passing performance of the season and sixth in his career.
- Moved past Major Harris on WVU’s all-time passing touchdown list with 42 and needs one more to tie Oliver Luck and Chad Johnston for fifth place on WVU’s career list.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ryan Reid, Baylor, CB, Sr, Dallas, Texas
- Reid had a career-high two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown in Baylor’s 49-7 win over Kansas.
- Snagged his first interception in the opening period and returned it 64 yards for a score to give BU a 14-0 lead.
- Repeated the feat in the second quarter and brought that interception back 52 yards to set up the Bear offense at the KU 19-yard line.
- The 116 INT return yards are the most by any FBS player in a single game in 2016 and were 14 shy of the school single-game record of 130 by Charles McClanahan at Missouri in 1974.
- The BU defense had four turnovers on the day and set a school record for combined interception return yards (170), breaking the previous record of 160 vs. Rice in 1956.
- Reid’s interceptions were his first of the season and give him five in his career.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cole Moos, Kansas, P, Jr, Broken Arrow, Okla.
- Moos averaged a career-best 50.4 yards on eight punts at Baylor.
- Recorded four punts of 50 yards or better, including a career-long 82-yard boot on his first punt of the afternoon.
- Also hit a 73-yard punt in the third quarter.
- His 82-yard punt tied for fifth-longest in KU history.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Devin Duvernay, Texas, WR, Fr, Sachse, Texas
- Duvernay caught four passes for a team-high and career-high 96 yards and a touchdown in Texas’ 27-6 win over Iowa State.
- His 75-yard score was the Longhorns’ longest play from scrimmage of the season and the sixth-longest TD reception by a freshman in school history.
- Has caught a touchdown pass in back-to-back weeks while totaling seven receptions for 177 yards and two touchdowns in that span.
