David Ratzer was named the director of operations for the West Virginia University women’s soccer team in September 2020, following multiple seasons as a student manager.
Ratzer’s roles include coordinating arrangements with opponents, organizing team activities and supervising student managers, in addition to his previous duties such as organizing equipment for training sessions and filming practice and games.
In all, Ratzer has been a part of the Mountaineer women’s soccer program since 2016.
Ratzer also spent time at WVU as an event management assistant for the athletic facilities department, most notably for the 2019 NCAA Division I Rifle Championships in Morgantown.
A native of Valley Bend, West Virginia, Ratzer earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2020. He is currently pursing his master’s in sport management at WVU’s College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences.
