Nathanael Rorie joined the West Virignia baseball team in January 2025 as Director of Technology, Analytics, and Player Valuation.
In 2025, Rorie helped WVU to a Big 12 regular season title and its second consecutive NCAA Super Regional appearance as the Mountaineers set a new program record with 44 wins.
Rorie is responsible for all video and data collection, manages and operates all technology in the Biomechanics and Performance Center, creates reports for games and practices, creates advanced scouting reports on opposing players and teams, and provides data and analytical updates for the coaching staff to aid in player development processes. He also assists in evaluating transfer portal talent and aids in high school recruiting operations. Additionally, he is responsible for the management of data student managers and scheduling the Biomechanics and Performance Center in conjunction with the biomechanist.
Prior to his arrival in Morgantown, Rorie spent 4 years at Belmont University where he served as the Director of Video and Analytics for 2 years following his 2 year role as student manager. During that time, he captured, created and developed the use of data, video, and analytics for the baseball program, helping the Bruins win the 2022 OVC Regular Season Championship.
Rorie further developed his skillset as an intern for various level programs during his collegiate years. In 2025, he served as a Fall Scouting Intern in the Carolinas for Prospect Select, 2023 as a Scouting and Game Planning Intern for the Florence Y’alls of the Frontier League, and the summer of 2022 as a Scout and Analytics Intern for Play9 Sports.
A native of Evansville, Indiana, Rorie graduated from Belmont University with a dual bachelor’s degree in Data Science and Sport Administration and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Coaching at WVU.
