
West Virginia Welcomes Maryland for Midweek Contest

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team is back at home on Tuesday, March 10, to take on Maryland. First pitch from Kendrick Family Ballpark is set for 2 p.m.
Tickets are available at WVUGame.com, by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or visiting the Mountaineer Ticket Office at Kendrick Family Ballpark. Student tickets are free with a WVU ID. Fans can watch the game on ESPN+ and can follow with live stats at WVUsports.com. The game will also air on the Mountaineer Sports Network for the first time this season.
It will be $2 Tuesday with select concession stand items available for two dollars as well as the Greek Game and Jersey Day with fans encouraged to wear their favorite jerseys. The first 150 fans will also receive a WVU beanie.
The Mountaineers are 10-3 this season and are coming off a 2-1 weekend against Columbia. After dropping game one, Brodie Kresser hit a walk-off grand slam on Saturday before WVU took the finale, 16-1, on Sunday.
Sophomore Gavin Kelly leads the Mountaineers with a .436 batting average and leads the Big 12 with nine doubles. Senior Matthew Graveline has a team-high three home runs while sophomore Matt Ineich and senior Paul Schoenfeld lead the squad with 16 RBI.
On the mound, sophomore David Hagen will get the start and has yet to allow a run in 5.1 innings of work. Graduate student Reese Bassinger has been one of the top arms out of the bullpen with a 1.59 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 11.1 innings.
