
West Virginia Set to Host BYU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 20 West Virginia University baseball team is back at home for a three-game series against Big 12 foe BYU, March 19-21. First pitch on Thursday is set for 4:30 p.m., Friday for 2 p.m., and Saturday for 12:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at WVUGame.com, by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or visiting the Mountaineer Ticket Office at Kendrick Family Ballpark. Student tickets are free with a WVU ID. Fans can watch the game on ESPN+, listen on the Mountaineer Sports Network, and can follow with live stats at WVUsports.com.
Thursday will be the Coal Rush game with all fans encouraged to wear black as the team will wear its black uniforms for the first time this season. The first 500 fans will receive a Coal Rush jersey towel giveaway. Friday will feature a happy hour before the game with drinks half price from the time gates open to first pitch.
West Virginia is 13-4 this season and ranked in every major poll after taking two of three at Baylor over the weekend to open Big 12 play. Redshirt junior Maxx Yehl was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, the NCBWA Co-Pitcher of the Week, and earned a spot on Baseball America's Team of the Week after throwing eight scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts.
Sophomore Gavin Kelly leads WVU with a .423 batting average and leads the Big 12 with 10 doubles. Senior Paul Schoenfeld has a team-high 23 RBI while senior Matthew Graveline has four home runs. Schoenfeld also leads the team with 10 stolen bases.

Ezra McNaughton leads the team with a .407 batting average and seven home runs while Ashton Johnston has been the top pitcher with a 3.10 ERA in eight relief appearances.
