
Mountaineers Head to Baylor to Open Big 12 Play

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team hits the road to open Big 12 play, March 13-15, against Baylor. First pitch from Magnolia Field at Baylor Ballpark on Friday is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, Saturday for 3 p.m. ET, and Sunday for 12 p.m. ET.

The Mountaineers are coming off a 10-3 win over Maryland on Tuesday as well as a weekend series win over Ivy League favorite, Columbia. WVU also has series wins this season over Georgia Southern, Liberty, and Kennesaw State.
Sophomore Gavin Kelly leads the Mountaineers with a .431 batting average and leads the Big 12 with nine doubles. Senior Matthew Graveline has a team-high three home runs while senior Paul Schoenfeld paces the team with 18 RBI.
On the mound, junior Dawson Montesa, sophomore Chansen Cole, and redshirt junior Maxx Yehl have started all four weekends and return to the bump against the Bears. Yehl and Cole are both top 10 in the league in ERA while Montesa is second in strikeouts.
