
Lawrence Earns At-Large Bid for NCAA Wrestling Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt freshman Rune Lawrence is heading to the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships after earning an at-large bid on Tuesday.
West Virginia has six wrestlers who will compete at this year's championship, including graduate student Jett Strickenberger (125), freshman Gunner Andrick (133), redshirt senior Jordan Titus (141), redshirt sophomore Ty Watters (157) and redshirt junior Ian Bush (184). Titus is just the 16th Mountaineer to qualify four times for the NCAA Championships. Strickenberger makes his third career appearance, and Watters returns after placing fourth at 149 pounds in 2024. Lawrence and Andrick make their first appearances at the championships.
The NCAA Wrestling Championships are set for March 19-21, at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Brackets and seeding will be announced on Wednesday, March 11, at 8 p.m.
