February 05, 2026 03:51 PM | Wrestling
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 16 West Virginia University Wrestling team hosts the No. 20 Missouri Tigers in its final home match of the regular season on Friday at 7 p.m. at Hope Coliseum in Morgantown.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+. Tickets are still available for purchase at WVUGAME.com.
West Virginia (9-3, 4-1 Big 12) is off to its best start against Big 12 Conference opponents since it joined the conference in 2012. With a win against the Tigers, the Mountaineers would also secure their fourth consecutive season with at least 10 dual wins for just the second time in program history and the first time since 1985-88. Competing in the Big 12 means West Virginia faces one of the staunchest schedules in the country. Missouri marks the fourth consecutive ranked opponent for the Mountaineers and their sixth of the season. West Virginia is 2-3 against ranked opponents this year.
WVU has defeated back-to-back ranked teams, including winning its last time out against then-No. 23 Wyoming (21-15) on Jan. 24.
Freshman No. 16 Gunner Andrick (133) leads the team with 18 wins on the season, including a 5-2 mark against Big 12 foes. He also has five wins against ranked opponents.
Redshirt sophomore No. 7 Ty Watters (157) is 16-1 on the year and remains undefeated against ranked wrestlers (6-0).
Along with Andrick and Watters, West Virginia has six total Mountaineers ranked by FloWrestling this week.
